Looking for Eyeglasses?

You can get eyeglasses for as low as $8 these days, can you believe that?

I remember when I was a kid they used to cost a fortune. My parents paid for them of course, up until the age of about 16 when I had to start paying for them myself – I think I bought two pairs before giving up and stopping wearing them. I have one ‘bad’ eye and according to the optician me wearing them wasn’t doing too much to help any way.

I went to get my eyes tested again a few weeks ago though as I have been struggling to see my PC screen and it was suggested maybe I should start wearing them again and see how I get on. I groaned because I knew it was about to get expensive – but then I came across Zenni Optical via a review of them in The Examiner and jumped up and down in excitement when I realised how affordable they can be! I only wish I’d have stumbled across the site sooner as I always liked wearing glasses!

I might even treat myself to two or three pairs at this price, so I have different ones to wear depending on my mood or even my outfit :)

Birthday Gift Time!

It’s ma birthday, I’m turning thirtay – woo!

Yeah that’s right, I turn the big 30 on March 20th, I am excited, I don’t really have any qualms about growing ‘old’, it happens to all of us! People have been nagging me for weeks now asking me what gift I want and I really don’t know, I have considered some running shoes but that’s a little boring – I feel I should get something more special and timeless.

There’s a nice Citizen Eco Drive watch I like and it’s not too expensive but I don’t really wear watches, they get in my way I find. I might have to make an exception this time though and go for it because I really do love it :)

New Anne a lay Apostle book

Have you heard of the author anne a lay apostle? I hadn’t until a few days ago when someone at work started talking about it, they swear by it and says it has helped them out a lot – I am tempted to buy it and give it a try myself. I don’t really read self help type books very often as I find a lot are useless and the same old information repeated time and time again, but this one has glowing reviews on Amazon as well as a personal recommendation – so I feel I should give it a chance :)

Turning 30, what ya buying me?

My birthday is on the way, it’s the big 3-0!

Now I am not the sort of person who likes a fuss, I am hoping it passes by without anyone trying to convince me I should throw a big party of sky dive in order to mark the day appropriately. But I am expecting some jolly nice gifts off my loved ones – DVDs are all well and good but I feel for my 30th I should get something a little more special that I will have and remember where it came from for years to come, like jewellery!

I got a (fake) Pandora bracelet at Christmas so people could perhaps buy me nice charms for that. I have also had my eye on a nice copper bracelet I have seen on BillyTheTree – they sell a wide range of gorgeous jewellery, from bracelets and earrings to anklets and toe rings.

I like the copper bracelets because I just prefer the color to gold which always seems garish to me.

BillTheTree offers free worldwide shipping which is also a major plus point as I have family and friends all over the world so any of them could order it for me, wrap it up and make it pretty and send it back over to me and they offer a satisfaction guarantee so if for any reason you don’t like your purchase you can just send it on back :)

Don’t be lazy, check for coupons!

When shopping online do you check for free coupon codes before purchasing anything? To me this seems like a basic thing to do because so many retailers do offer coupons and they are so easy to find thanks to sites like edeals.com – I just did a search for Target coupon codes and Best Buy coupons and both came back with results.

It took me a few seconds to do literally and if I were actually planning on making an order right now I’d have saved myself around $10.

I know people who don’t bother though, they say they ‘cant be bothered’, how lazy do you have to be to not be bothered to take a few seconds to do something that can save you some money?

More money than sense!

Who doesn’t love to shop?

What is it about women and shopping? Do you think it’s actually part of our DNA that we love doing it or is it something we learn and evolve into by watching society around us?

Either way like most women I indeed do love to shop. women’s clothing, accessories, shoes, make up and beauty products are my favourite things to buy – but I will quite happily go gaga over any thing really.

I was on a high all last week because I bought a new laptop case, I felt like a nerd.

I suppose one of the many reasons I personally love to shop for clothes is because I have lost so much weight and can now wear clothes that I wouldn’t have dreamed of wearing before :)

Gun Safes

I was just looking for a site that sells West Coast Safes for guns. Being from the UK originally it is a pretty foreign concept to me that people keep guns in their homes – it seems as though every one in America has one whereas in the UK if you saw a gun in someones house you’d run out of there as fast as you could!

The husband and I have got into quite a few arguments about it over the last 3 years that we have lived here, he thinks we should have one because every one else does but I say we don’t need one – we managed to survive for 25 years in the UK (and Australia, and all of the other 5 countries we lived in at one point) without one so I am sure we’ll be fine here as well.

I was looking for a safe for my neighbours though as they do insist on having one and asked me to help find something for them.

Super Saver!

I love saving money. You know how a lot of women love spending money? Well I am the opposite, I love shopping and buying things but I feel guilty if I pay the full amount for any thing – I get the satisfied feeling if I manage to save a hefty sum on the usual price of something :)

I spend a lot of time on various websites looking for coupon codes and the like for ordering items online, with so many coupons around and cashback sites it’s usually cheaper to buy things online than in store – especially if you have the patience to wait a little while and hope they have a sale or promotion on the way. A lot of places offer free shipping sometimes which is always a plus for me. I even Submit Promotional Codes to voucher sites quite often as I tend to find them before other people and it’s nice to share and give back to somewhere that has saved you a lot of money :)

Clothes shopping :)

On Tuesday I am doing my favourite thing in the world ever, I am going clothes shopping – and as an added bonus I am going with my mom :)

I have a shopping list the size of my arm in my head but I am hoping to not have to spend a fortune, I am going to be all about the bargains and I do already have a few discount codes and vouchers to use.

Things that I absolutely need are some sparkly shoes and a fancy dress for a party I am going to on Thursday (a friends 30th, there are going to be a lot of those this year!) and a new coat, I did get one at Christmas but I changed my mind about liking it and took it back last week.

I hope I will be able to get them all in town, but if not I will just get them from the SimplyBe Women’s Clothing range online.

I’d also like to get some new skinny jeans, some combats, some leggings and maybe some nice lingerie for valentines day :)

Feel The Bid!

I just came across a new auction site that I am sure is going to steal many hours of my life! It’s called FeeltheBid and it looks like a lot of fun, because they offer a number of new and exciting ways to do things – they do express, reverse and direct auctions – you can get some free bids when you sign up, you get 2 just for registering, another 5 when you use voucher code mtc81 and more still if you become a fan on Facebook.

I am going to use my free bids to try and win an ipod touch at 80% off the usual price, that’d be pretty sweet :)
