We went two years ago as well when it was someones 50th birthday and we had an absolute blast – Amsterdam has a certain reputation but it was not like that at all. It’s an absolutely gorgeous city with rich culture at every turn and some of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen – Italy is the only place I have seen any better architecture – we stayed for the weekend and I came away with loads of things I had wanted to do but didn’t have the chance to and I always said I would make sure to go back one day and finish the job :)
